JD Byrider complaint by Chelee
I bought a vehicle from JD Byrider in December of 2005. They first tried to force me into buying a 01 Ford Escort for $9,995 after I refused, they allowed me to buy my 01 GMC Jimmy for what they said was $9,995 (blue book value was $7,000) After I got all my paperwork, I realized I was going to end up paying $19,000 with interest. Their interest rates are 24.9% which exceeds the legal vehicle interest limit in the state of Michigan. (The legal limit is 17.85%, so DO NOT sign their contract if it's above that) Before purchasing the vehicle I noticed a leak coming from the windshield, I told them about it and they promised to have it fixed before I purchased it. Come rain season I found out it had never been fixed and they refused to fix it. The vehicle now has black mold (really unsafe for my 5 year old and 1 year old to be breathing!) They also begin harrassing your 12 contacts that you are required to leave with them up to a week before your payment is due. If you are one day late on a payment they begin harrassing with threats of repossession. They even go as far as going to my parents business to leave letters of repossession, which I have no connection with. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy! Steer clear of JD Byrider unless you are looking for a lemon of a car and a whole lot of harrassment!
