Byrider - Not A Happy Camper
I have a 06 Saturn Ion and initially when I purchased the vehicle it had 110,000 in June 2014. Being excited because I needed a car badly to get back and forth to work, I only had to put $100 down as a down payment and the remaining $900 would be broken up into increments of $200 bi weekly until the $1000 was paid off.
That part is paid off so now I am into my actual car payments. I viewed my payment history today and noticed that my balance is extremely high at $12000 and I have paid $3000 into the car. The car according to KBB is around $4000 so it finally hit me to call CNAC to see exactly what I am paying for. She explained interest, average daily balance etc however she would never give the exact amount that the car was worth.
She just said the car was worth $12000 which I know is not true at all. Then she said that you are paying to be in a program to help boost your credit score. I have no idea who to contact or how to get out of this but this is a HUGE ripoff.
Also the car has malfunctioned several times, check engine light comes on all the time which I know of a lot of people that purchase from JD Byrider have had the same issue. It sounds all good at first but people that are considering, PLEASE don't make the same mistake I did and fall for the scam because thats exactly what it is.
Reason of review: Pricing issue.
Monetary Loss: $12000.
Preferred solution: Price reduction.
Byrider Pros: Down payment was cheap.
Byrider Cons: Value and warranty.
Location: North Carolina, United States

Oh, my. You paid $12,000 for a car worth maybe $3000.
What are we supposed to do at this point, except be sorry for you. I wish you would have contacted someone before buying.
